Markus Flasch, BMW M boss, has posted on Instagram that the company will show a 625-bhp (466kW) M5 CS later this month.
The horsepower is impressive, indeed, and puts the CS variant ahead of M5 Competition with its 616 bhp (459 kW). Besides, the M5 CS is 70 kg lighter than the M5 Competition.
The BMW M5 CS needs just around 3.0 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h).
Flasch also mentioned some details of the upcoming hardcore car, such as carbon bucket seats it had, gold bronze surround on a front grille, forged alloys and side strake, a subtle ‘M5 CS’ badge at front, yellow headlights, and carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers.
Expect a bespoke performance exhaust system and a solid suspension in addition.
The price of the BMW M5 CS will likely be higher than that of the current M5 Competition (£102,325 / €129,900 / $112,095).
