Electric Vehicles Are Ahead of Traditional Cars In Norway

In 2020, Norway became the first country in the world where the share of electric car registrations exceeded 50 percent.

This information came from OFV (Norwegian Traffic Information Service) on January 5, 2021.

A total of 141,412 new cars were sold in the country last year, 76,789 (54.3 percent) of which were fully electric.

In 2019, the market share of electric cars was 42.4 percent in the country. Market analysts forecast that EV sales will continue ramping up and exceed 65 percent in 2021.

The Audi e-tron is the segment leader, while the Tesla Model 3 takes the second place.

Norway has an ambitious goal to completely abandon petrol engines by 2025.
