The new Audi Q6 E-tron arrives in 2022 on Porsche’s PPE architecture. The model sits between the Q4 E-tron and the full-size E-tron flagship.
This new E-tron SUV model is a ‘sister’ of the Porsche Macan EV. The Premium Platform Electric (PPE) will underpin it, meaning a rear-mounted electric motor as standard.
Audi will produce the Q6 E-tron in Ingolstadt. The Audi Q6 E-tron resembles the full-size E-tron in terms of styling. At the same time, it is mechanically identical to the electric Macan.
It is unclear now if the new Q6 E-tron will replace the same-sized Audi Q5, or the latter enters its next generation. The current-generation Audi Q5 has been recently refreshed, and it should be available on sale within 2023-2024. The vehicle offers efficient mild- and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
In terms of performance and driving range, the Audi Q6 E-tron is expected to produce around 590 bhp and 612 lb-ft in its hottest RS variant, and cover over 300 miles on a single charge.
The PPE’s 800-volt functionality, by the way, allows charging of up to 350 kW. Moreover, the PPE-based Audi Q6 E-tron takes the pas in terms of dynamics compared to Audis and Volkswagens on the MEB platform.
