At the beginning of 2021, the sales leader changed in the European SUV segment. The new-generation Peugeot 2008 comes ahead of the Volkswagen T-Roc.
In January 2021 alone, nearly 15,000 Europeans purchased the Peugeot 2008. At the same time, the demand for the crossover increased by 87 percent, according to JATO Dynamics. Sales of the main rivals, the Volkswagen T-Roc and Renault Captur, totaled 13,900 and 12,200 units, respectively.
The Peugeot 2008 was ranked sixth in the overall ranking of European best-sellers. By the way, the most popular vehicle in Europe was the Toyota Yaris in winter 2021, not the Volkswagen Golf as before, which took only the 4th place.
The 2020 Peugeot 2008 got an all-electric version – e-2008. That green modification certainly added buyers.
Moreover, the Peugeot brand is the second in popularity in Europe now, while Volkswagen is the first.
